Another year has flown by! I can’t believe that we are already at the end of 2018. But, to be honest, I’m really excited for 2019!
2018 was somewhat of a crazy year for this blog. I started off at a normal pace, slowed down a little during the summer, and then went full speed ahead in the last three months of the year.
It’s fun to look back each year and see the progress that we have made in our home. We did a lot of projects this year to finish some rooms. I am loving how our home is growing into a space that we truly love!
It’s also fun to see just how many different posts I’ve shared here on the blog. My blog is just over 3 years old now. It’s fun to look back and see how it has grown!
Today I thought that we could take a little trip down memory lane and look back at the highlights of 2018 – my third year blogging!
The Best of Keys to Inspiration 2018
So, what happened this year on Keys to Inspiration? Let’s start in…
In January, I was on a New Year’s organizing kick and decided to tackle organization in our kitchen. I didn’t completely organize the space perfectly, but I made significant progress that helped make working in the kitchen a whole lot easier.
In February, I finished up organizing our kitchen by cleaning up the cabinet under our sink. And as a reward for getting the kitchen a lot more organized, I got a new faucet for our kitchen sink.
In March, we worked a lot on our Master Bedroom makeover. There were lots of details and decorations to add to the space that really tied everything together. One of my most popular posts is all about installing easy craftsman window trim. There’s even a free workbook you can download if you are doing this project in your own home!
In April, we started the spring season and I shared a fun home tour of our simple and bright spring living room. I loved decorating with a light and fresh approach for the spring season! I also shared one of my favorite money-saving hacks for decorating — how to custom frame your own photos.
In May, I actually took a break from blogging for a little while. I had lots of projects behind the scenes and didn’t share any blog posts. I did work on a fun spring decorating project and blog post as a guest poster for another blog. It was such a fun project and I love how it turned out!
In June, I shared the full reveal of our master bedroom! But right before that, I also shared how we built one of the bigger projects from that space – the modern barn door. The master bedroom is one of my favorite room reveals here on the blog! I hope you love it as much as I do.
In July, I started sharing a new set of freebies on the blog – planning printables! I’ve seen so many of these all over Pinterest and decided to create my own, branded versions of my favorite planning printables. You can download them out in my resource library for free if you are an email subscriber. And if you aren’t a subscriber yet, you can sign up here!
In August, I continued adding fun free planning printables to the collection. One of the biggest posts that I shared was actually a full update to one of my most popular posts from the past. It’s a new free meal planning and grocery shopping printable. This has by far been the most popular printable on my site. You can still get it for free in my resource library.
In September, our home went into full fall mode! Fall is my favorite season, and also my favorite time to decorate because of all the coziness. I also shared a quick and easy way to make a beautiful autumn sign for your home.
In October, I participated in my very first One Room Challenge. I decided to makeover our basement room and turn it into my home office. For the One Room Challenge, I totally transformed the nook area of the basement to turn it into a built-in desk. This was my most ambitious home project to date, but it was worth it!
PS: Don’t forget to read all of my ORC blog posts. They are linked at the end of all the weekly posts. I shared a LOT in October.
In November, I finished my first One Room Challenge by sharing the full reveal of my Modern and Bright Creative Home Office! It was such a great experience and I love my new office!
At the end of the month, I continued my end of the year momentum and started my next biggest project — which you can read all about in the December recap next.
In December, I decided to challenge myself and create a huge Christmas series focused on the Cricut! I kicked off the series at the very end of November and then I shared a new project every single day in December until Christmas! It was SO much work, but it was also a ton of fun! I am so proud of this series and how much I created and was capable of. I hope that you loved it too!
PS: I also fit in a nighttime Christmas home tour!
Looking back on this year, I’m so grateful for all of the amazing things I’ve gotten to do because of this blog. 2018 was a little crazy, and it flew by. The end of the year was VERY intense and I did so many things in just the last quarter of the year. It was exciting, exhausting, but also rewarding.
I’m very excited about what 2019 will bring! Thanks for being here with me along the way. You truly are my friends!
